About Us
Logan Outfitters has relationships with landowners and private fishing clubs across Pennsylvania. Through these relationships we are able to offer anglers private access to streams that are carefully managed and preserved to produce the best possible fishing.
The streams we fish include (but are not limited to):
- Spruce Creek
- Warriors Mark Run
- Penn's Creek
- Pine Creek
- Beaver Creek
- Tipton Run
- The Little Juniata
- Elk Creek
- Yellow Creek
- Fishing Creek
- 20 Mile Creek
Thanks to the unique geology of our area, most of these are spring creeks - fed by cool limestone springs. With low ph, average temperatures in the mid-fifties and rich insect life, these streams are marvelously well suited for trout.
Central Pennsylvania is within a few hours drive of the middle Atlantic area as well as Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo. It's largely rural area that is well known for its fine trout streams and fishing. Anglers who come to fish with us enjoy more time on the stream, probably catch more fish and don't have to endure all the hassles of traveling. Instead of travel days, you'll have more days fishing. With a little luck, you may land a trophy brown or rainbow in the morning of your last day and be home that afternoon.
It's important to remember that all of our fishing is catch and release, fly fishing only. Our water is private access, so you won't have to deal with crowds. Since we rest our streams as much (or more) than we fish them, so you won't be fishing over trout that have been pounded day after day. We carefully manage our water so you can expect healthy trout. Our water ranges from watercress bordered spring creeks to larger spring creeks and freestone streams. Depending on the piece of water you'll either be fishing for wild browns and brookies or a combination of wild and stream bred fish. These fish are healthy and ready for action.
There are a wide range of hatches, given the geographic diversity of our streams. Most of the traditional hatches occur, along with a host of different caddis. Blue Winged Olives, Baetis and midges can come off at any time. Depending upon the stream fished, there is a variety of mayfly and caddis hatches from early April through mid June. Summer fishing features Tricos and terrestrials. When the water is high or off-color, Wooly Buggers and large sculpin patterns are deadly! Check the hatch chart and pattern lists on our Web site for more information. The spring creeks fish well all year round, weather permitting in the winter months.
From September through April we have great fishing for steelhead from Lake Erie on our private access waters in northwestern Pennsylvania.
We also offer bird hunting for chukar and pheasant on our private preserve September through March. Cast and Blast trips are also available.
